Signing in & security
Your event has its own Crowd at a web address you can reach from any browser. This covers getting in and securing your account.
Reaching your event's Crowd
Every organization gets its own address in the form yourcompany.oncrowd.net. Two ways to get there:
- Go straight to your address (e.g. gameon.oncrowd.net), or
- From oncrowd.net, choose Log in and enter your company code.
That web address opens Voyager (the field app) on a phone, and Polaris Web (the dispatch dashboard) on a computer; Crowd picks the right one for your device. Dispatchers usually run the Polaris desktop app instead — see Dispatch.
Logging in
- Enter your email and password.
- If your organization requires two-factor authentication, you'll be asked for a second step — a security key or a 6-digit code (see below).
- You're in. Where you land depends on your role: dispatch users see the board; responders see their assignments.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor adds a second proof of identity on top of your password. Crowd supports two kinds — use either, or both:
Security key / passkey (recommended)
A passkey or hardware security key (Face ID / Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a physical key like a YubiKey). This is the most secure option and usually the quickest to use. To set one up, open Profile → security, choose Add security key, and follow your device's prompt. You can register more than one (e.g. your phone and a backup key) and rename them.
Authenticator app (TOTP)
A 6-digit rotating code from an app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password. In Profile, choose to enable two-factor, scan the QR code with your app, then enter a code to confirm. Crowd shows you a set of backup codes — save them somewhere safe; each one gets you in once if you lose your phone.
Passwords
A Crowd password must be at least 12 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a symbol. To change it, go to Profile → change password. If you're ever locked out, ask your administrator to send a reset.
Staying signed in & signing out
Sessions expire after a period of inactivity for safety, so you may be asked to sign in again during a long event. You can sign out anytime from Profile. On the Voyager field app you can also set a quick-unlock PIN so the app locks itself if you set the phone down — see the Voyager guide.
